This is the 2nd Latinx Community Round table event that is held quarterly at the Latino Arts Foundation. The Latinx community is invited to discuss any and all items that the Latinx community may have in regards to leadership in the community. We will invite leaders within the Latinx community to attend to address questions however this is a discussion for ALL and we want everyone to contribute to the dialogue, provide feedback and know it is a safe space to do so.
For this event on March 7th we will discuss Equity. Please bring questions around this topic. We will have a moderator, Alex Perez Gomez.
This event is changing to a Roundtable discussion to support the statement Edgar Galicia, CEO Central Avenue Betterment Association, said, “This event is like being at Abuela’s kitchen table. Where we gather, share and Abuela keeps us accountable to be here together and share together.”
10-10:30am - meet & greet; pan dulce and coffee 10:30-12pm - Roundtable
PURPOSE OF EVENT: The purpose of this event comes from a place of support. To meet, gather, share, inspire, create. Someone wrote an article about what is your superpower. It caught me when I read someone’s response “being all in with everyone I know.” That is what this event is. I never see anything wrong with something new or someone bringing an idea to create conversation and networking amongst our Latinx community.
***Allies are welcome to attend and listen, but we want to give priority to the Latinx community since we often don’t have a seat at the table, nor hear from people who look like the youth attending."
